Ru Cui™ 汝翠™
翠 (Cui) is the jade character, the green of jadeite.
汝 (Ru) is borrowed from 汝窑 (Ru Yao), the Ru ceramic ware of the Northern Song court.
Ru ware came from one small group of kilns, was made for only about twenty years, and is still held as the high point of Chinese ceramics.
It was never the brightest or the most decorated craftwork. It was valued for restraint, for the depth of a single colour, and for the fact that its origin was known and never in doubt.
That is the standard we set for this material. One documented source. Colour and pattern rather than display. A record that goes back to the deposit.
Ru Cui™ is not the name of a product. It is the name of the stone itself, and it stays with the stone wherever the finished piece is sold.
